This agency also will assist residents with complaints about neglected pets Report excessive noise from barking dogs to the Gainesville Police Department.
No animals or pets of any kind shall be kept except ordinary household pets which shall not be a nuisance or annoyance to neighbors. Homeowners are encouraged to notify the Gainesville Police Department if a pet is causing a disturbance and Alachua County Animal Control if a pet is running loose in the neighborhood or you feel a pet is being abused by its owner.
All pets must have vaccinations as required by city and county laws and regulations.

Pet owners must carry a poop bag with them and pick up their pet's excrement when walking them through the neighborhood.
